Practical training programs on Dairy-, and Pig Husbandry in Russia

During the first year of the LEC project, PTC+, in cooperation with the project management, has selected three partners to collaborate within the field of Practical training;
- Kamsky Bekon, Chelny, Tatarstan ( Pig Husbandry)
- Belgorod Agricultural Academy ( Dairy Husbandry)
- Ministry of Agriculture, Saransk (Dairy-, and Pig Husbandry)
The year 2009 was mainly used to start with the ‘Train the Trainers’ program. The Russian trainers of the three centers have been trained at PTC + in the Netherlands( April 2009) , during four weeks. A first follow-up training in Russia has been organized in July in Belgorod and Kamsky Bekon. A second follow-up training of the trainers is scheduled for the second half of 2009.
After this second follow-up training of the Russian trainers, the first commercial professional training programs will be organized in early 2010.
The following training programs/modules will be offered:
Dairy Husbandry
- Forage production, feeding and feeding systems. The main subjects covered in this module are: roughage production, conservation and utilization systems, feeding plans, quality aspects of feed stuffs, ratio calculation and feeding systems
- Fertility management, incl. AI techniques
- Mastitis management
- Hoof trimming
- Financial and technical analysis of production results
- Milking systems and milk quality
- Housing and equipments ( cow comfort aspects)
- Dairy farm management
Pig Husbandry
-Nutrition and feeding strategies ( sows-piglets-fatteners)
-Fertility management, incl. AI
-Financial and technical analysis of production results
-Housing and equipments
-Ventilation systems and climate control equipments
-Health management; bio-security systems- vaccination programs
-Production planning, incl. Pig farm management computer programs
-Pig farm management
Kind of training programs
The offered training programs will be very practical oriented. After a short ‘theoretical ‘ introduction of the subject, most of the time will be spent on the practical implementation of the subject in a ‘practical learning environment’ at one of the practical training centers. ’ Learning by doing’ is the motto of our approach in the field of skill training. In order to guarantee this practical approach, the maximum number of participants per group is eight(8).

Duration of the training programs
It is obvious that the duration of a training program depends on the needs of the participants. Above all, the required competences of the participants at the end of the training, the professional background and the experience of the participants will determine the required duration of the training. Consequently, the duration as well as the contents and kind of training will vary accordingly the different target groups involved and will be designed and agreed upon with the participants( or sending company/organization) prior the commencement of the training.
By experience, the average training duration of one of the mentioned modules is three days. Combination of different modules can be arranged. Training programs on demand can be organized throughout the year. Training programs on demand can be organized at 1)one of the training centers in Russia,2) on the venue of the client, or 3) at PTC+ in the Netherlands. Some of the above mentioned modules will be organized on regular base ( open subscription). For these ‘regular training’ programs, a training calendar will be designed in by the end of 2009.
Costs of training
• Three days ‘regular’ training (min. eight participants)
- Advanced level; Euro 550,00 (excl. board and lodging) per participant
- Basic level; Euro 250.00 (excl. board and lodging) per participant

• Tailor made training programs ( groups prize; up to eight participants)
- In Russia, at one of the training centers, Euro 800,00 per day (excl. board and lodging).
- Training, on the ‘spot’ of the client, Euro 450,00 per day (excl. travel expenses and costs for board and lodging of the trainer)
- Training at PTC+, the Netherlands Euro 1,600.00 per day (excl. board and lodging and travel expenses)
