LAB

LEC-lab

GD, Blgg and Agrolab Russia are currently in the process of signing a Letter of intent (LoI) in which they agree to proceed with the drafting of a joint venture agreement. The laboratory will be located in Klin (80 km North West of Moscow on the road to St. Petersburg)
If all goes well we expect to have the laboratory operational April 2010.
The aim of the laboratory is not only to perform laboratory tests but also to provide advice and assistance with sampling. Since the laboratory will benefit from the expertise of Blgg and GD the advice will be based on scientific sound knowledge.
Since the laboratory has no commercial or legal interest the results as well as the advice will be truly independent
The laboratory test results will be obtained with state of the art methods under well controlled quality management. The quality of the laboratory will be monitored by GD and Blgg which makes the results and the advice reliable.

An evaluation of the problems that face Russian agricultural enterprises has resulted in a list of test methods that will be given priority. In order to keep the prices acceptable during the first years it has been decided to perform the following tests:
• Roughage analysis
• Serology
• Bacteriology
• Clinical chemistry

Depending on the possibilities that both Russian export regulations and Dutch import regulations allow other test methods will be performed in the Blgg and GD laboratories.

The prices of the laboratory methods are not yet known since cost-price calculations cannot yet be made since for instance the real cost in Russia of laboratory materials are not yet available. However we have based our business plan on the following average prices:

Serology € 3.50
Mastitis € 10,00
Blood chemistry € 5,00
Bacteriology € 10,00
Roughage € 50,00
Feed € 50,00

In addition we will develop programs for monitoring and packages of tests. For instance a package will be offered for feeding of cattle comprising of feed and roughage analysis and analysis of blood and milk to determine the nutritional status of the animals.

In order to give an impression of the tests that we plan to perform in the laboratory a table has been attached. Additional methods may be included in the future. Also the list depends on the possibility to register test methods in Russia and the demands of potential clients.
