Knowledge Transfer in Russia
- Goal of the project
The project is a Dutch-Russian knowledge transfer project and training program in the dairy and pig production sectors. The goal is to develop a sustainable network of Russian and Dutch Institutes and companies.
- High education
Co-operation between the staff of Wageningen University and the staff of selected Russian Universities, will enable post-graduate candidates to obtain an international MBA-certificate, which will help them to implement the new technologies on farm level.
- Practical training
With the use of experts from Dutch and Russian agricultural institutes and companies, (practical) training and services about new technology will be spread effectively.
- Laboratory
The establishment of an independent laboratory will give farmers all required information on soil, feedstuffs and veterinarian aspects. Good independent practical advice on laboratory test results, are essential for optimum farm management.
- Financing
The project was initiated by the Russian and Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, and the Dutch Ministry made Euro 3.2 million available for the implementation of the “Livestock Expertise Centre” (LEC) project. On Russian side the project is supported by the different regions in the Federation.
